What detectives told the family.
Family members say West Des Moines detectives told them investigators believed the injury pattern was consistent with the baby being forcefully slammed down onto his legs. The family also says a detective told Mother that doctors did not consider the injuries consistent with the fall explanation given by the baby's father. This wording is the family's account of what investigators told them; the filed affidavit uses the separate sworn language quoted above.

Separate harassment case and second arrest
A separate criminal complaint charged Geletta with third-degree harassment after Mother reported continued harassment. He was arrested again. A criminal no-contact order protecting Mother was entered and a $500 cash-only bond was set in that case.
Level II release revoked
Polk County pretrial services applied to revoke release in FECR406839. The court revoked it and imposed a new $10,000 cash-only bond in the serious-injury child-endangerment case.
